E. Bunny Got Kidnapped

So last week was Easter and instead of participating in the full-contact egg hunt as per usual, I was up to my eyeballs in research.  On the all-time list of best Easters, this one won't crack the top 20.  And apparently E. Bunny got kidnapped (bunny-napped?) on the way out to VT as someone stole my box of Easter treats :( No barking chicks this year.  But after turning in a major paper on Wednesday (and celebrating with a couple margaritas with the girls), the week turned around.

And the weather's getting better too!  I'm going to jinx it by saying that...

Everybody around here was having kind of a stressful week, so we decided that no homework was going to be done on Saturday and we were going to have some fun.  Laura and I hit up Old Navy bright and early in the morning and tried to scale the two-story wall of shorts to find our sizes.  But we ended up with some good bargains!

In the afternoon, we went to the Magic Hat Brewery for a free tour.  The place looks pretty sketch-tastic from the outside and it's covered in aluminum siding -- a preservationist's nightmare.  There was a weird metal tower thing out front, so before going in the brewery, we decided to climb up it.  Yup, it's not stable anymore.  That thing was a rocking in the 2mph breeze and after a class on wood deterioration, I just didn't look at the excuse for flooring I was standing on.  But it was a mini-adventure :)

Looking down the tower of death.  See my toes?  :)

The inside of the brewery was sweet!  It looked like the Salvation Army thrift store and Halloween Express had a love child that threw up everywhere.  There were mardi gras beads everywhere and this giant, creepy head sticking out of the wall.  We decided it would have been the perfect girlfriend for Olmec from Legends of the Hidden Temple.  And there were sweet little sunburst lights set into the floor.  I wish I would have taken a picture, but I was too distracted by all the shiny things.

Magic Hat is surprisingly like Ben and Jerry's - responsible and fun business.  And they started their microbrew in some random closet in Burlington!  They can bottle 400 bottles of beer per minute and put labels on 600 a minute!  If only the bottling line would have been running, but I suppose even beer brewers need to enjoy their weekend.

The rest of the day was spent eating Chinese food, watching the Bruins lose and wandering around the woods.  Pretty good day, I'd say.  Now back to the books!  To all the future professors out there, don't schedule quizzes for Mondays.  You're ruining my Sunday-Funday.
